1. Provide senior-level analysis and compilation of statistical data, rate level indications, financial costs, and other economics information using mathematics, statistics, and financial theory to assess the risk of potential events associated with property, automobile, and business insurance policies 2. Design high-level and complex policies and determine the premiums that should be charged for each policy based on senior-level actuarial analysis 3. Perform senior-level forecasting and advanced analysis of the probability of an event (such as death, sickness, an accident, or a natural disaster) occurring, the potential economic costs of the event if it does occur, and whether the company maintains enough financial resources to pay future claims with respect to its property, automobile, and business insurance policies 4. Lead the testing of property, automobile, and business insurance policies, and other business strategies in order to minimize risk and maximize profitability while preparing advanced actuarial portions of new rate filings, and review and revise draft responses to complex questions raised by the various state insurance departments 5. Perform senior-level actuarial calculations of cash reserves needed, based on existing property, automobile, and business insurance policies, in case of pay-out or claims, as well as assist with the company's Rate Committee, including presenting actuarial pricing information, evaluating rate proposals, and advising on the impacts of actions being proposed 6. Plan and direct the drafting of actuarial charts, tables, and reports that explain actuarial calculations and proposals concerning property, automobile, and business insurance policies, and provide comprehensive explanation of findings and proposals to company Leadership, as well as to external stakeholders and vendors 7. Lead the continuous improvement of actuarial process and procedures based on industry trends and best practices in collaboration with the company's Research and Development Actuarial Team 8. Oversee correspondence of the company's Actuarial Department to evaluate their impact on work to verify consistency of related actuarial work product, and provide mentoring and training for actuarial trainees A Bachelor’s Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or similar field of study is required (a foreign educational equivalent is acceptable). Also required is 18 months of employment experience as a Senior Actuarial Analyst, Actuarial Associate, or Product Development Actuary. In addition, Associate-Level Certification from a Professional Actuarial Certifying Society, Association, Academy, Institute, or Organization is required. The place of employment is at Central Insurance Company’s Technology Office at 6620 Mooney Street, Dublin, Ohio 43017; however, Central Insurance Company will allow telecommuting from home within the same Bureau of Labor Statistics Area as the place of employment no more than two days per week.
